Begonia boliviensis - Watercolor

It took me one year of living in Sucre, Bolivia to find out that they have an herbarium here. I went and talked to them and they asked me to do illustrations for them. I clearly empathized that I'm not a professional but they wanted me to paint some for them anyway....

This is my first work, an endemic begonia. Its funny how u find interesting details when u have to study a plant that u normally wouldn't look at.

Ive been working with very little water, a lot of dry brush. Sadly I realized that the paper, even thou it is HP has to much texture to suite my dry techniques, will try to get hold of some Fabriano HP but thats easier said than done.
